Our Mission
Our goals
01
Community Events
We create educational, transformative events through facilitated, in-person experiences. Our gatherings blend learning, lived experience, and connection, making space for honest questions, respectful conversation, and practical takeaways people can use immediately.
02
Community Growth
We grow the silent majority into confident upstanders. Brave Voices equips people with the knowledge, language, and courage to speak up against antisemitism and misinformation, at work, on campus, online, and in everyday life.
03
Dialogue Engagement
We increase participation of non-Jewish community members at key events. By bringing people together across backgrounds, we strengthen allyship, deepen understanding, and build shared responsibility to challenge hate and division.
Brave Voices exists to build a new generation of courageous voices, through honest dialogue, lived experience, and practical tools to act.
Voices of Courage
Voices of Courage
We are a grassroots movement uniting people of all backgrounds to stand against hate and division, with a clear focus on antisemitism, misinformation, and the challenges facing the Jewish community. Through education, lived experience, and honest conversation, we empower people to move from silence to action.
We believe courage begins with listening deeply, learning honestly, and acting boldly. When everyday people feel informed, supported, and confident, real change becomes possible.
How it all started
Brave Voices was founded by Carol Tannous–Sleiman and a close group of friends who wanted to create space for honest, respectful conversations about antisemitism and racism in Australia.
As the daughter of parents who fled conflict in Beirut, Carol understands how identity, migration, and prejudice shape lives, and how dangerous it is when hate goes unchallenged. Brave Voices was created to break the silence, amplify lived experience, and help more people feel informed, confident, and brave enough to speak up.
In silence, antisemitism and hate flourish. Brave Voices exists so they don’t have to.
